BETTER

Copyright 2011 – Robert E. Shandor

When you said you
Wanted somebody new
Well I was devastated for sure
When you walked out
You know you left no doubt
That you loved me no more

You had told me
We were meant to be
Each other’s one and only one
I thought that you
Were the best I could do
And you were always second to none

It was hard gettin’ over you
I didn’t know quite what to do (so I)
Went and found myself someone new
To make my dreams come true
And I’m not lyin’
It’s just mystifyin’
But she’s better than you
She’s better than you
She’s better than you

Once you were gone
I tried to carry-on
But you were always on my mind
What I should do
To get myself over you
Was something I couldn’t quite find

I couldn’t see
A way to remedy
My sense of emptiness it’s true
It seemed to me
That there could never be
Another love for me like you

It was hard gettin’ over you
I didn’t know quite what to do (so I)
Went and found myself someone new
To make my dreams come true
And I’m not lyin’
It’s just mystifyin’
But she’s better than you
She’s better than you
She’s better than you

And I’m not lyin’
It’s just mystifyin’
But she’s better than you
She’s better than you
She’s better than you
