COME WHAT MAY

Copyright 2013 – Robert E. Shandor

They call me ramble-tamble ‘cause I’m always on the move
I could be at the pyramids or over at the Louvre, any day
I’m an experience junkie, a sometimes flunky, who’s crazy
As a monkey when it comes to play, comes to play
And I’ve been all around this great big world
And here’s what I came back to say…

Let’s take a sail into the sunset
Off the shores of Waikiki
And watch the dolphins swim ahead of us
Showin’ us how to live free

Let’s roast some mac nuts on a fire
Lie on a blanket under a tree
Suck the juice out of a mango
While we share the evening breeze

Then I’ll wrap my arms around you
Hear your heartbeat’s melody
As I whisper sweet somethings to
The tune of destiny

And there’s one thing you can count on
You know it’s safe to say
I will always be here for you
Come what may
I will always be here for you
Come what may

You know I’ve been here and I’ve traveled there and
I gotta tell ya every place is startin’ to look the same
I have flown on planes and rode on trains, sometimes
I had to hitchhike in the rain, in the rain
And I’ve been all around this great big world
And here’s what I came back to say…

I couldn’t hold you any closer
I couldn’t want you any more
I want to feel this way forever
I want to see our love endure

I hope that we’ll grow old together
I hope our hearts will fill with joy
I know that we can share a future
Even time cannot destroy

With each new day’s sun-risin’
We can choose what we will do
I choose to give to you my lovin’,
Darlin’, for ever and a day

And there’s one thing you can count on
You know it’s safe to say
I will always be here for you
Come what may
I will always be here for you
Come what may

And there’s one thing you can count on
You know it’s safe to say
I will always be here for you
Come what may
I will always be here for you
Come what may
Yes, I will always be here for you
Come what may
