LIKE A JUNGLE DRUM

Copyright 2017 – Robert E. Shandor

(You can) hear my heart beating like a jungle drum

In the still of the night, a refrain

Reminding us of what we knew and felt

And that much of it still remains

We haven’t lost our love, just lost our way

But that’s something we can regain

If we’ll take the time to care anew

And ignite the spark of love again

(You can) feel the heat rising from deep inside

Proves the fire has yet to be tamed

Giving in to love and giving up on self

Are in no way the same

Push anguish from your heart, it’s easy when you

Give the beast its proper name

Fear breeds doubt, so banish it and

Let love lay its claim

There are many things that we could share

If only we’d let ourselves go

These are the very things we need to share

If we want our love to grow

(You can) hear my heart beating like a jungle drum

In the still of the night, a refrain

Reminding us of what we knew and felt

And that much of it still remains

We haven’t lost our love, just lost our way

But that’s something we can regain

If we’ll take the time to care anew

And ignite the spark of love again

There are many things that we could share

If only we’d let ourselves go

These are the very things we need to share

If we want our love to grow

Hear my heart beating like a jungle drum

(Jungle Drum…Jungle Drum)

Hear my heart beating like a jungle drum

(Jungle Drum…Jungle Drum)

Hear my heart beating like a jungle drum
