SOME TIMES

Copyright 2016 – Robert E. Shandor

I know that there are things that I don’t understand

About you, so those are the times that I reach out for your hand

And those, they are the times that I’d think you’d take a stand

But you can leave me standin’ – alone

I know that I have tried to find some compromise

With you, most all the time but you choose to criticize

And though I’ve always hoped that you might be the one

Instead I find that I have come – undone

Some times it seems to me that I hardly know your name

Am I the fool, should I hide behind my wall of shame

And some times this all feels like a harsh rain from above

But all I know deep in my heart is I can’t get enough of your love

Enough of your love

You know it feels like I’ve been swept out with the tide

To sea, and I debase myself letting you subvert my pride

While I know there is not a chance that you will stay

I don’t know why I won’t go – away

I know that there are things that I don’t understand

About you, so those are the times that I reach out for your hand

And those, they are the times that I’d think you’d take a stand

But you can leave me standin’ – alone

I’m living here on a wing and a prayer since you’ve come around

The prayer hasn’t helped me yet and the wing has let me down

I’ve given you my best pitch but I’m 3-and-oh from the mound

Not sure that my next pitch won’t get buried in the ground

In the ground

Some times it seems to me that I hardly know your name

Am I the fool, should I hide behind my wall of shame

And some times this all feels like a harsh rain from above

But all I know deep in my heart is I

Can’t get enough of your love, I

Can't get enough of your love, I

Can't get enough of your love,

Enough of your love
