SWEET MEMORIES

Copyright 2019 – Robert E. Shandor

I think I might have met an angel

She surely came from up above

Her spirit lights my way through darkness

I think I’m falling in love

I'd led a life of dissolution

Lived on the edges of the law

She came and brought me absolution

She overlooked my every flaw

And now I find I’m not so lonely

My heartache’s walked right out the door

With her I hope to make sweet memories

Then come on back and make some more

As time goes by I may become forgetful

But I’ll never forget what I came here for

I wished for someone and she came to me

Like it was written on the wall

She poured out love like fine champagne

And I was glad to drink it all

She didn’t ask for me to change a thing

Just took me as I am

She said she was pleased to be my woman

And I told her I was proud to be her man

And now I find I’m not so lonely

My heartache’s walked right out the door

With her I hope to make sweet memories

Then come on back and make some more

As time goes by I may become forgetful

But I’ll never forget what I came here for

I think I might have met an angel

She surely came from up above

Her spirit lights my way through darkness

I think I’m falling in love

And now I find I’m not so lonely

My heartache’s walked right out the door

With her I hope to make sweet memories

Then come on back and make some more

As time goes by I may become forgetful

But I’ll never forget what I came here for

With her I hope to make sweet memories

Then come on back and make some more

As time goes by I may become forgetful

But I’ll never forget what I came here for

No, I'll never forget what I came here for
