WHEN I'M IN YOUR ARMS

Copyright 2012 – Robert E. Shandor

I bet you can’t remember the day that we first met
But that’s okay, I’ll forgive you ‘cause it hasn’t happened yet
You’re just a woman who lives only in my dreams (and my)
Hopin’ that I’ll meet you’s not as crazy as it seems
I’d like to take you for a night out on the town
In for a penny, well then, why not a pound

When I’m in your arms
I find life’s pain goes away
Goes away

I get the feeling that I’ve been here before
The countless times I’ve awakened on this dirty floor
With a head that’s pounding harder than a charging steed
Maybe just one little nip is all I really need
To make you come to see me, and hold me through the night
Tell me things I want to hear, and make me feel alright

When I’m in your arms
I find life’s pain goes away
Goes away

In those moments when I’m lucid, it’s not hard for me to see
That salvation will elude me, even on the shores of Galilee ('cause)
It’s easier for me to let a bottle bring you here
Than it is to face without you this world I’ve come to fear
While it’s not an answer to the problem that I face
I’ll meet you here tomorrow as I drown in my disgrace

When I’m in your arms
I find life’s pain goes away
Goes away

When I’m in your arms
I find life’s pain goes away
